Google I/O 2012, google announced a new Asus-branded tablet called Nexus 7.
The Nexus 7 sports a 7-inch, IPS (In-Plane Switching) screen, with a resolution of 1,280×800. The tablet is also the first 7-incher to house a 1.3GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core CPU.
Rounding out the specs is a micro USB port, 1GB of RAM, a 1.2-megapixel front camera (no back camera included), a gyroscope, GPS, accelerometer, microphone, and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi.
The device measures 10.45mm thin, weighs 0.7 pounds, and from the looks of the first pics released has a textured, grippy backside and looks to be about the same size as the Kindle Fire.
The Nexus 7 will be the first device to run the latest version of the Android OS, Android 4.1, also known as Jelly Bean.
It will be availabe in two models 8GB and 16GB and will be priced around Rs11,000 and Rs14,000 respectively.
